I wanted to share with you a little bit of where my journey has taken me the last month or so.
Right before Halloween I had the opportunity to join an accountability group to keep each other motivated to beat holiday weight gain and from losing the progress we had worked so hard for over the year. After it was over I decided I wanted to help motivate people to stay healthy and active. I had been doing it for friends here and there, but I lacked the tools I needed to really help them achieve their goals. So I signed up a couple days later and started using the workouts almost daily mixed in with my yoga, walking, jogging, and toddler chasing. These pictures were taken just over 3 weeks apart and the last 10 days I started drinking Shakeology. I worked out at least 5 times a week, but those workouts were only 10 to 30 minutes long and done in my living room! I had some treats because ya know tis’ the season, but I made healthy choices with my meals so I could eat real food without starving. I didn’t stress about every little thing because I have 2 kids that stress me out enough. Health and fitness can be as easy or as hard as you make it, so I try to make it as easy as possible!
To give you a little more of a break down, I only lost 2 lbs in these 3 weeks. But I am less bloated and more defined! That number on the scale is not the only thing that matters! Before I took the last picture I didn’t think I looked that much different. I thought maybe my stomach was a little flatter, but I am probably just wasting my time. And then when I put them together I saw the difference it made and I knew this is the start of something great!
This is why you take before pictures even if you only have them for yourself! When you see something every day you don’t notice the changes. When you have that side by side comparison you will be so happy you did.
But I want you to know that the scale isn’t everything and feeling better physically is what matters. I feel stronger, healthier, more energized, less bloated, I have less junk cravings, and I’m not as hungry! That’s the stuff I care about and want to share with others.
